My strength comes from the Lord

Several years ago there was a movie entitled The Perfect Storm.  It was the true story of a time when several storm systems merged off the coast of Maine and Nova Scotia to form one perfect and powerful storm system.  A boat was caught in that storm and the story tells of their miraculous survival.

I have been in my faith-walk with Jesus for some length of time now and I have experienced many different storms.  But now it appears the enemy has brought about the perfect storm in my life.  Several strong storm systems that have merged together in my life.  But God is good to me and and he reminds me through his inspired word how much he cares for me and how he will cause me triumph over the onslaught of the enemy.  I can’t help but recall the words of David in Ps. 27 where he writes,

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.”

The Lord is my strength and upon his everlasting arms I rest my confidence.  The Lord has spread a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.  My cup truly runneth over.  I will stand in the light of his love and mercy.

Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies….I had fainted unless I believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

I know that I am not alone and that there are others of you who are facing many seemingly impossible situations.  I want to admonish you now that God is in control and that his love for you is everlasting.  Stand strong in your faith and I’ll stand strong in mine and together we will stand against the wiles of the devil who seeks to destroy and devour  God’s people.

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
