Forgiveness

I wanted to share a dear friends poem with you today.  I hope it speaks to your heart.

FORGIVENESS

Although she’s nearly ninety years old

her inner child still yearns to know:

The one who struggled with his troubled soul

unable to love or be known.

Still there are others younger than she

brought low by another’s disdain;

Feeling every bit of ninety years old

having known immeasurable pain.

Their belief in God unites their souls

affirming His truth on two stones:

That the Father is holy His love absolute

His will is to love and be known

So little children and kindred souls

release your sorrow and pain.

Did you not know He lifts your head

by the palm of His hand when it rains?

And did you not know He bottles your tears

never forgetting your grief?

So let us look with unwavering faith

to His wounded hands for relief!

Let us consider the tears of our Lord

weeping over Jerusalem.

And let us rejoice in that chosen day

when Mercy would hang on two limbs!

If only our hearts were the vessel

that held His sacred tears –

We would understand the depth of His love

never forgetting He’s near.

Then we would forgive as we are forgiven

knowing He cares for our frames.

And we would pray for wisdom and strength

knowing it was for all that He came!
